Whether you live in a rental or bought a house years ago, there's a pretty good chance that you never bothered to change the shower heads that came with the place. But this $20 option from Delta installs in a matter of minutes, and will be an upgrade that you appreciate every time you step into the shower.
Delta H20 Kinetic
The Delta 2-Spray H2Okinetic Shower Head is something of a cult favorite among people who care about shower heads, and offers the best bang-for-the-buck of any shower head money can buy.
At a quick glance, it looks like an incredibly simple shower head, and indeed it is. It has only four nozzles for water to come out of (which isn't actually a problem, for reasons we'll get to shortly), and just a single adjustment knob with two settings: 2.5 or 1.85 gallons per minute, the latter of which meets the EPA's WaterSense specification for environmentally friendly shower heads.
So why only four nozzles? While convential shower heads push out a single, continuous stream of water from each of its nozzles, Delta's H2Okinetic technology agitates the water on its way through the nozzle, atomizing each of the four sprays into a cone of high speed, pressurized water droplets that offer more coverage, warmth, and all-around wetness than a traditional stream. This chart from Delta illustrates the difference well:
When you combine four of those cones into a single shower head, the result is a high-pressure, full coverage shower that uses less water than your current shower head, but feels like it belongs at the best hotel you've ever stayed in. And for under $20 each, you can afford to put them in every bathroom in your house.
